Code and standards regarding hearing augmentation – or the transmission of audio in learning spaces to receivers in hearing aids of students, teachers and visitors – exist in various Federal and State legal instruments and in policies attached to State, Catholic and individual schools’ policies.
One such instrument is Australian Standards 1428.5 – 2010, Communication for People who are Deaf or Hearing Impaired.
Hear and Learn is very conscious of being at the forefront of this blend of regulation and only supplies signage required under the Building Code which allows for comfortable viewing at the nominated distance. The height of our text is 20 mm which means we meet these standards.
