VSBA Building Quality Standards Handbook drives best practice auditory learning and inclusion

The Victorian School Building Authority is at the forefront of Australian education infrastructure projects.  It’s May 2022 Building Quality Standards Handbook create minima in respect to hearing augmentation and soundfield which reflect a policy that all hard of hearing learners, teachers and visitors deserve all audio to be delivered to receivers in their hearing aids.  And this needs to be achieved without these people wearing or holding additional equipment.

This outcome has been achieved at Mentone Park Primary in Melbourne.  The Hear and Learn SoundHouse has been built into 5 rooms so that there are no visible power outlets, no unsafe cabling and technology secured in a steel, lockable bespoke cabinet that makes it easy for teachers to create a best-of-breed auditory learning experience.
